Grace in the Struggle, Light in the Waiting

Reflections on Struggle, Strength, and Surrender

Every Muslimah has her silent battles.

There are moments when the heart feels heavy, burdened by responsibilities, relationships, confusion, or just the weight of not feeling “enough.” At times, it feels like everyone else is moving forward while you’re standing still, trying to make sense of what Allah has written for you.

Let me gently remind you, beloved soul: you are not alone.

Struggles Are Part of the Path

Our struggles are not signs of weakness—they are signs of being human. They are reminders that this dunya is not our home. The Prophet ﷺ said:

"Verily the one who recites the Qur’an beautifully, smoothly, and precisely, he will be in the company of the noble and obedient angels. And as for the one who recites with difficulty, stammering or stumbling through its verses, then he will have twice that reward."
Sahih Al-Bukhari and Muslim

What does this teach us? That difficulty does not disqualify us—it multiplies our reward. Whether it's Qur'an, your healing, your patience, or your search for clarity, every stumble is seen. Every tear is counted. And every sincere effort is deeply loved by the Most Merciful.

Your Journey Has a Divine Pace

We often rush ourselves. Wanting answers. Wanting change. Wanting ease. But Allah reminds us:

“But your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes.”
Surah At-Takwir

Take your time. Be gentle with yourself. Allah is never late. The pace He decrees for you is the most beneficial and appropriate, tailored with divine precision.

Obstacles Are Not the End

very pain you've faced, every closed door, every moment of confusion—it was not meaningless. It was a signpost, not a full stop.

“If you keep reminding your heart about Allah ta’ala, there will come a time when your heart will remind you of Allah ta’ala.”
Unknown

The obstacles in your life are not punishments—they are reminders. They are invitations to return, to reflect, and to remember.

Know Your Worth Lies With Allah ﷻ

When you tie your self-worth to people’s opinions, your value becomes unstable. People change. But Allah never changes. His love, His mercy, His promises are constant.

“Everyone isn’t for you, and you are not for just anyone... Know your worth lies with Allah ﷻ.”

Even the best of creation ﷺ was misunderstood and rejected. Yet his honor was never diminished—it only increased. Your worth is not tied to how the world treats you. Your worth is with the One who created you.

What You See in Others Is a Reflection of You

Sometimes we are drawn to people because we see a light in them. That same light exists in you. Allah places mirrors in our lives—through friendships, tests, or even strangers—so we may better see ourselves.

“A Muslim is a mirror to another Muslim.”
Abu Dawud

Let every reflection be a lesson. Let every encounter be a moment of growth.

Keep Turning Back, Again and Again

You’re allowed to feel. You’re allowed to break down. But don’t give up. Don’t believe the whisper that you’re too far or too flawed. Allah's mercy is deeper than your pain and wider than your past.

“O son of Adam, I do not care if your sins reach the height of the heavens, then you ask for My forgiveness, I would forgive you.”
Hadith Qudsi

Every time you rise after a fall, you’re rewriting your story. With Allah’s help, healing is always possible.

In Every Struggle, There Is a Gift

So, dear Muslimah, breathe.

The path you are walking is not easy, but it is sacred. You are being shaped by the Most Loving. Through pain, you are being polished. Through trials, you are being taught. And through surrender, you will find peace.

Remember: Allah is always near. Keep striving. Keep believing. Keep turning back. You’re never alone.

With peace,
